Streamlining BIP Development & Data Collection

$25.00

Learn how to: Categorize individualized target behaviors into response-classes or “levels”; Create a BIP ‘cheat sheet’ based on these levels; And utilize simple data collection methods to record and graph behavior levels.

By grouping behaviors that serve similar functions together into response classes that use common language, rather than ABA jargon, our Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and data collection methods can be more easier understood and implemented, especially in the school setting. Nicky will discuss how to: Categorize individualized target behaviors into response-classes or “levels”; Create a BIP ‘cheat sheet’ based on these levels; And utilize simple data collection methods to record and graph behavior levels.

This course will focus on the implementation of these methods in the school setting, however, the information can be generalized to the medical model of behavior analysis as well.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand and utilize a method of categorizing individualized target behaviors into response-classes, or “levels”, that increasingly impact the environment.
  • Create a one-page BIP ‘cheat sheet’ that outlines the target behaviors, the interventions and specific nuances of staff behavior (do’s and don’ts) for each response class level.
  • Develop data collection methods for the response class levels that are simple and easily transferable across settings and staff knowledge levels.
